I owned the BB-CEC20 for 6 weeks. It never made a loaf with the proper crust. All crusts were not browned. I was lucky, I was able to send it back. Read other reviews with the same problem at: consumersearch.com/bread-machines, before you punk down all that money!!

Over the years I've tried a few breadmachines. My first was a Jojirushi. The others I tried honestly couldn't match it in quality, construction and reliability! I now have and use at least once or twice a week the newest Jojirushi and ALWAYS recommend it to everyone who asks me what they should buy. Every person who has asked and bought one has always thanked me many times over - they love theirs!! The great part of a Jojirushi is that you don't have to be an expert to own and use it...but you don't have to tell your guests that! *smile*

The West Bend Hi-Riser is my first ever bread machine. I truly contemplated on the purchase of the zojirushi but being a novice I am going to walk before I run. I hope I do make mistakes and learn from them. When I feel I get to a point that I have a good idea about bread machines I may invest in the zojirushi or just stay with my West Bend.I am retired now and I am doing breadmaking in a machine as a hobby.

I have to agree with your statement about zojirushi being a little more expensive, but they are definitely worth it. In our own testing, we have found zojirushi to ultimately be more reliable and dependable, while producing a higher quality bread.
